Overview

You can control how your institution works and what your home page is from the Settings tab of your institution administrator panel.

Account

  • Username: The unique handle of your institution.

Changing the institution username will change the URL of your institution (unless you're using a custom domain). It will also break any API references to your institution's datasets.

Generally, you should not update this username after a sizable number of researchers have started working with your institution.

  • URL: By default, your institution URL will be https://redivis.com/{username}. However, Redivis supports custom domains — for example, https://data.your-university.edu . to configure a custom domain!

  • Administrators: You can add and remove administrators of your institution via the modal launched by clicking this section. Administrators have access to everything in this administrator panel, including the ability to add or remove other administrators, and to make themselves administrators of any organization.

Public profile

From the institution admin panel, navigate to the "Settings" section, and then select the "Public profile" tab. Here, you will be able to customize various components of the institution landing page:

  • Institution name: The full name of your institution, which will appear on the institution home page and the top left navigation bar.

  • Home page name: How you want your home page to be named, which defaults to "Data platform". This is shown in the header of your institution home page, and in the footer shown on all pages in your institution.

  • Custom color: A brand color that will be reflected on the institution home page and for all organizations within your institution.

  • Header image: An optional image that will replace your institution name in the top left header bar. This is useful for when you want to use a custom logo / font for your institution's name.

  • Institution description: A short description which will appear in the header on your institution home page.

  • Institution links: When users hover over your institution in the top-left header, they will see a dropdown of links to additional resources at your institution. This is helpful for directing users to additional resources related to working with data at your institution.

  • Featured organizations: You can choose organizations to keep at the top of your organization list. All other organizations will appear in this list if a) they are publicly listed and have at least one dataset that is visible to the current user; or b) the current user is a member of that organization.

  • Cover images: A large cover photo that will be shown on the institution home page. You have the option to upload one image which will be shown on all pages, or to upload a separate image for every page. You can toggle between these options here.

  • About: This content will be displayed on your institution home page, providing visitors with additional context about the data (and organizations) within. This section supports rich text and images. If no content is provided, auto-generated text will be displayed in this section of the institution home page.

Advanced

DOI provider

Link your DataCite or EZID account so that organizations within your institution can issue DOIs for their datasets.

Upon providing these credentials, any organization within your institution will have the ability to opt-in to issue DOIs through these credentials (no DOIs will be issued until an organization administrator explicitly opts in). Subsequently created organizations will be opted in by default, though they can turn off DOI issuance at any time.

Data egress configuration

Here you can specify a Google Cloud project that is used for egress billing purposes, and can be inherited by all organizations within your institution.

ROR identifier

The ID is the persistent identifier for how your institution will be referred to in DOIs and citations across Redivis.
