The first tab of the organization settings allows for you to configure certain core settings for the organization
The organization username is the unique handle of your organization, seen by users throughout Redivis and used when programmatically querying your datasets.
Changing the organization username will change the URL of your organization's landing page. It will also break any API references to your organization's datasets.
Generally, you should not update this username after a sizable number of researchers have started working with your organization. If you have a pressing need to change the username of an established organization, we recommend contacting us to help support the transition.
By default, your organization URL will be https://redivis.com/{username}
. This corresponds to the URL of the organization's "landing page".
Redivis does offer support for custom domains — for example, https://data.your-university.edu
. Contact us if you'd like to configure a custom domain.
You can add and remove administrators of your organization by clicking on this setting. The administrator will need to have a Redivis account before you can add them, and you can search for users to add based on their email or username.
Use this setting to configure emails for which to receive access requests. You can configure notifications to send an email either as a daily digest or in real time (typically bundled in ~5min intervals, to avoid email overload if a researcher submits multiple requests at once).
Don't leave your researchers waiting! Unless you're checking the administrator panel regularly, it's a good idea to configure at least one email alert for new access emails.
By default, your organization will be listed publicly, so anyone will be able to search for and discover the organization. If your organization is part of an institution, it will also be listed on that institution's landing page.
If you'd like your organization to generally be undiscoverable, you can turn off public visibility. In this case, any member of your organization, as well as anyone with the URL, will still be able to navigate to your landing page.
Hidden organizations should still always define appropriate access rules for working with the organization's data, as anyone who knows the organization's username can still find its landing page and interface with any (public) datasets.
Provide your Research Organization Registry (ROR) identifier here so that it can appropriately be represented in the metadata assocated with any DOIs issued for your organization.
